As UL’s premier functional safety training partner, kVA by UL had to transform our business processes over the past year to meet our customers’ growing demands since many people are still working from home amid the pandemic.

To continue fulfilling UL’s mission, making the world a safer place, we’ve made the tough but necessary decision to proceed with virtual training, instead of in-person events, until summer 2021.

So, what’s UL’s Top 5 Approach to virtual learning?

1. We’re leading in real-time.

Our functional safety training is available as synchronous instructor-led courses for private and public groups. We believe strongly in the value of open dialogue and encourage question and answer time with a live trainer throughout our courses’ duration so that they remain engaging.

2. We’re contributing to a healthier planet.

During our transition to e-learning, we’ve recognized the need to decrease our carbon footprint. All attendees now receive access to an electronic version of our slides that they can reference for years to come. Our certification exams are also managed remotely, while participant provided print outs of the coinciding standards remain optional for course success.

3. We’re global.

Now with remote learning, we can expand our portfolio of offerings across the Americas, Europe, China, Japan and the Middle East. Across UL, we have trainers on staff who are fluent in English, Mandarin, German, French and Italian. Our training portfolio is robust, with a diverse group of functional safety experts on board whose sole focus is to refine our catalog of offerings to be unique and evergreen with technology advancement.

4. We’re customer-focused.

At kVA by UL we partner with our customers to help ensure they attend the training that best suits their business needs. From certification training to introductory-level courses specific to the ISO 26262 standard, our team is dedicated to helping OEMs and their suppliers build the competency they need for successful product design.

5. We’re safety experts.

UL’s functional safety training programs span across automotive, industrial automation, machinery, autonomy, and oil and gas. Our global team ranges from marketing professionals to business development and project engineers who are rooted in the belief that safety comes first. Our employees live and breathe safety and are always looking for new and innovative solutions to manage complexity. Our breadth and depth of knowledge makes us proven experts in our field.
