Semiconductors

kVA by UL supports the ever growing semiconductor industry and provides consulting support on the new ISO 26262 Guideline for Semiconductor Applications (Part 11), such as:

  • Safety Requirements Flow-Down for ASIL B Interior Display Processor – kVA by UL led the development of ISO 26262 system-level work products for a next-generation SOC for integrated interiors, ADAS, and video monitoring applications.
  • FMEA Safety Analysis for FPGA IPs – kVA by UL performed FMEAs on a wide variety of logic designs from the standard IP library of a major FPGA developer, based on ISO 26262 requirements.
  • Interconnect IP Gap Analysis for ISO 26262 – kVA by UL provided gap analysis to the ISO 26262 parts 2,5,8, and 11 for a developer of on-chip interconnect IP. The analysis identified gaps and a plan to address those gaps for several ongoing development programs.
  • Software Tool Confidence Process Definition – kVA by UL provided framework documents for the evaluation of software tool confidence for a major global IC provider. Work products included a template, guideline, and worked example based on an internally developed memory compiler.
